The Zen Bride
Is your B2B living her best zen life? Does she love yoga retreats and spend her spare time trying to reach spiritual enlightenment? If the answer is yes, then we are sure you will find something on this list that will suit her tastes. From relaxing in the spa to communicating with the spirits through a tarot reading. If’s it’s spiritual or relaxing, it’s here.
Dubai
Yoga Class
Surely yoga is considered the most zen thing you could do while actually doing some form of physical activity. The good news is, Dubai is definitely not short of yoga experiences. What’s On has a guide to the 13 best yoga studios in Dubai. But if you’re looking for something a little different you could try out Sunset Yoga, Bikram/ Hot Yoga or “Underwater” Yoga at Dubai Mall Aquarium. Alternatively, if you have any yogis in your group, you could head to one of these top yoga spots and hold your own private yoga session.

Yoga class
Surely yoga is considered the most zen thing you could do while actually doing some form of physical activity? I have no doubt that there will be an abundance of yoga classes in your area, be it in dedicated yoga studios or in the local park. Do some research and maybe reach out to some local instructors to see if they can help you organise something fun for your group. Meetup is an ideal place to start looking for local groups in your area. Alternatively, if any one of the guests is a yogi, ask them to host a private lesson just for you guys in a lovely picturesque location.
Bringing the Fun to You in Dubai
Bringing the Fun to You
Tarot/psychic readings
Whether your B2B and the gang are sceptical or not, tarot readings are always interesting. Inviting a psychic to your venue to give some readings throughout the night is a really fun little extra. Who knows, you might even get a glimpse into your future!
Staying In
Yoga pose charades
This is a fun way to bring yoga lovers and the yoga novices together. Make a list of (the English names for) various yoga poses. Put these in a bowl and get people to try and get into what they think that pose is, while the rest of their team frantically tries to guess. I particularly enjoy people trying to do poses like the ‘Boat’, ‘Camel’, ‘Dolphin’ and ‘Happy Baby’. Experienced yogis may well know the pose, but they will have to remember that their inexperienced team members may not. So, it’s a great way to get people working together.
Other Touches
Food & Drink
When I think zen, I think healthy yogis and hippy artists. If this suits your B2B then read on. If not, check out the food listed under Casual Bride, Classy Bride and OG bride, as well as all the other categories on the site, for a range of other ideas.
Firstly, your typical spiritual gurus tend to eat all organic, cruelty-free and vegan. Now, there is a likelihood that not everyone attending follows this diet, but you should try as much as you can to align with the B2B’s beliefs. Here are some awesome vegan party food ideas.
Decor
You may have guessed that my idea of ‘zen’ is very boho and earthy. So, for décor that ticks that box, check out the Festival Theme and get ideas on turning your venue into a hippy wonderland.
The alternative interpretation is to go very minimal and clean, basically all white. Choose a venue with wide open, fairly empty space and ideally all white walls and surfaces. Use all white balloons with a small handful of a chosen colour* for a pop. Or these white balloons with vine leaf strings are really cool.
*You can opt for the B2B’s favourite colour, or choose a simple metallic like gold or silver, or even a calming sky blue.
Extras
Set up your own little photo booth with a DIY backdrop and some fun props like these or these. Or, if you’re in Dubai, I can do all the photography work for you. You can see my work at www.shotsbysherrie.com.
