Unicorn Theme

If you haven’t seen at least one Unicorn themed item recently, then where have you been?! It’s a hugely popular trend because, besides the stunning rainbow and holographic aesthetic, who doesn’t want to be an IRL Unicorn? No one, duh. So if you want to throw a totally wonderful Unicorn themed do, then look no further.

Local Activites (Dubai)

Grab a bite at Tania's Teahouse

If a Unicorn was going to go anywhere for a cup of tea and a cake, it would be Tania’s tea house. It is a beautiful, modern café for the trendiest of tea lovers. With a great variety of tea’s and sweet treats on the menu and lots of stunning Instagram friendly décor, this is a great venue to host a little brunch to start your weekend in style. Play some of my table games to get the party going.

General Activities

Makeover Day At a Salon

Do some research into local salons who can provide you with some Unicorn inspired hair and makeup (ideally one where loads of you can have your hair/makeup/ nails done together so no one is sitting doing nothing.) Inform them in advance of your theme and have a look at some inspiration to help guide the stylists. You could go for a subtle Unicorn eye, or you could go all out and really channel that inner Unicorn.  Any blonde members of your party will be lucky enough to get decent results from temporary colourful hair sprays and chalks, but unfortunately, it doesn't work so well for brunettes, but glitter does!

Bringing the Fun to You (Dubai)

Makeover & Photoshoot

If you don’t fancy heading out to a salon, enjoy a full-on Unicorn make-over from the comforts of home by hiring one of my recommended beauty artists. In order to celebrate your new equine - sparkle beauty, I can come and capture you all in your own private photoshoot! I'd be happy to do all the photography work for you! check out my other site www.shotsbysherrie.com for examples of my work or drop me a line!

Bringing the Fun to You (General)

Hire a facepainter/MUA

If you cannot be bothered trying to figure out how to best capture that ‘Unicorn vibe’ makeup, then why not hire someone to come and help you out? Find an MUA in the area that is artistically talented and can turn you from your everyday self into the glittering Unicorn you were born to be. Failing that, an actual face painter will definitely have you all looking like the grown-up versions of the sixth birthday party you always wanted.

Staying In

Pin the horn on the Unicorn

An absolute classic, it’s not really a Hen party until this game is busted out. Of course the normal version is Pin the Junk on the Hunk, but if you want to stay on theme then all you have to do is DIY yourself a Unicorn (you can use this silhouette as an outline if there aren't many artists in the group) on a piece of card or MDF board, and create a bunch of sparkly horns for people to try and stick on. For extra hilarity, use these very NSFW “Horns” on the Unicorn, or stick the Unicorn horns on to the naked man version of the game. You could also use these Unicorn masks as a blindfold, by not cutting out the eyes… obviously.  If that all seems like too much work you can, of course, buy the game.

Other Touches

Food & Drink

The first rule of Unicorn anything is to have a beautiful rainbow of colours* in as many places as possible. This covers food too. From Unicorn grilled cheese and Unicorn toast to Unicorn cheesecake dip. Unicorn mac and cheese and Unicorn noodles, to Unicorn sushi. If you can dye it rainbow colours you can make it Unicorn. Here and here are lists of rainbow foods to inspire you.

*A lot of the linked food on this list will be rainbow bright, but if you want to have a more sophisticated adult vibe, stick to pale pastels or the cooler end of the rainbow.

The aesthetic for a Unicorn party is pretty simple and very similar to the Mermaid theme. Pastel rainbow colours, and holographic EVERYTHING. From balloons to garlands, pom poms to bunting. If it shimmers or is a pretty pastel, it works. You can actually find a surprising amount of pretty and not too childish décor here.

To really bring the weekend together and help all your Unicorns understand what the plans are, check out my custom-made programmes that detail your weekend and provide your guests with all the information they will need to know. I would specifically recommend these beautiful rainbow lanyards to go with them too.
